2013 – Wreath-laying Ceremonies
During the Month of July, the Mother Club was invited to attend a number of Wreath Laying Ceremonies to commemorate the Bard.
President Maureen Armstrong and numerous member of the Club represented the Club at the ceremony at Fountain Well in Paisley to join members of the Renfrewshire Association of Burns Clubs. The weather that day was torrential rain which resulted in the a number of our members being unable to get out of Inverclyde due to heavy flooding.
Senior Vice President Bill McCready, accompanied by Margaret Dickson, June Forbes and May Maxton, represented the Club at the wreath laying ceremony at the Brow Well, Dumfries, which was followed by a social evening.
Junior Vice President Christine MacLeod represented the Club at the wreath laying ceremony at Alloway followed by Burns Square, Ayr and Legland Wood and enjoyed the emotional experience.
The wreath Christine laid at Alloway was made by her own hands.
