Align Your Brand With The World’s Oldest Burns Club.
Robert Burns Is Big Business!
Did you know that he value of Robert Burns to the Scottish economy is now over £200 million per annum of which tourism represents about 75%? Greenock Burns Club (The Mother Club) is one of Inverclyde’s oldest and most revered charities. It can trace its continuity back to 1801, just 5 years after the death of Robert Burns and is thus recognised as the world’s oldest Burns Club. We want to grow the club’s profile and are fundraising to commission a statue of Robert Burns for Greenock which will bring further tourism opportunities to Inverclyde and acknowledge Greenock’s connection to the poet.
Heritage, culture and tourism is now a pillar of the Scottish economy and our club, with its ambitions for growth, its museum near the Greenock Ocean Terminal and the town’s relationship with Burns and Highland Mary, is well-placed to benefit from this.
